Mirjam van den Berg (Netherlands 1967) started her career in photography as an art-model. During her marriage with a photographer, who made her his personal studio assistant, she learned how to look at composition and light and how to use and manipulate it.
After following many masterclasses she started her own career in photography in 2003. Since 2010 her work started to evolve and specialized in fine-art photography..
Mirjam prefers working with dancers and actors because they can express themselves in the story to be told, which shows in her images.
Nature, people, light and all kinds of fabric have been a great part in her work.
She has a preference for working with natural light.
Although her images are very well thought through concepts, she always leaves a variable open for creative purpose on the day of shooting.
She has worked with several artists in additional projects, like ‘Project A’ and ‘SistersInc’.
Her work has been exposed on the first blog-art festival(2009), The Kröller-Müller Museum (2011), several group expositions and some solo expositions (2009 – 2017) and has been featured in Digi photo pro for her ‘365 times me’ project (2010).
